After reading about the regular plungers (~5") vs. the sink plungers (~4"), I decided to get this (not too expensive even if it didn't work). I did drill a whole at the top. Works well.
Pay attention to the size measurement. This is not suitable for a toilet plunger. Your hands will be in the nasty water as this plunger is tiny. It comes in two pieces and seems flimsy. But after putting together it is perfectly fine to use on a sink or a urinal. Just definitely not a toilet. I bought it for a new office, so I haven't actually had time to use it. But the round plunger part seems both stiff and flimsy at the same time, so I am a little worried that it will be the kind that will turn itself inside out when you use it, or splash the nastiness you are trying to plunge all over the place. (I however am a self admitted klutz, so again would probably be my own doing)
The handle is very rough, I wouldn't try this without gloves I'd be afraid of splinters.
All in all, it is exactly as described size wise, and very cheap. I probably would have purchased specifically for a sink plunger intentionally with the thought "Who cares about a sink plunger?" for the price. After receiving, though, I wouldn't purchase again.
I decided to give this a try and filled the sink half full of water. Holding the palm of my free hand over the sink vent I plunged the drain a few times. The gob of hair that came up was disgusting! After removing that, the drain flowed like brand new. I really prefer something like this than using harsh chemicals and it works better to boot.
The only down side I can see to this is that it probably would not make a great gift (unless the recipient has a really good sense of humor. ;) )

I love that it's tiny. I thought I ordered a full size plunger for a bathroom so it was pretty hilarious when I pulled this out of the box. Read morePublished 14 days ago by K. Akiyama

this thing is small but it works. i used it on the tube drain. the small size makes for less forceful and lower volume of water movement, but it did the trick. Read morePublished 22 days ago by Jerrod Kowalski
